The Sims Medieval: The Basics

King Arthur has nothing on the Sims.
What Is The Sims Medieval?
A spin-off of the uber-popular PC franchise, The Sims Medieval transports players back to the middle ages and adds questing to the gameplay for the first time.

How Is The Sims Medieval Different from The Sims?
Besides the different setting, The Sims Medieval also brings a number of new gameplay features to the table. It features must more structured gameplay with specific hero sims and quests.

What Are Hero Sims?
Hero Sims are Sims of specific professions that are given quests throughout the game. The player can customize the way these Sims look, as well as pick out two character traits, and one fatal flaw for each Sim.

The classes of the Hero Sims are:

  • King or Queen
  • Physician
  • Bard
  • Sorceror or Sorceress
  • Spy
  • Blacksmith
  • Knight
  • Priest
  • Cleric
  • Merchant

Do I Still Have to Make Them Go to the Bathroom?
No. The only stats you have to be concerned about in The Sims Medieval are hunger and energy.

Are There Cool Ways to Torture or Kill the Sims?
In order to keep the "Teen" rating, the developers were unable to include the more gruesome medieval fare, like beheadings or burning people at the stake. However, there is a large pit with a monster in it that you can toss your Sims into if you so desire.

Is There Multiplayer?
There is no multiplayer in The Sims Medieval.

How's It Looking?
The gameplay works the same as previous Sims games, with easy-to-understand point and click controls. The artwork in The Sims Medieval is incredibly detailed and looks much better than any of the other Sims games to date.
